Responding to NSW shared equity scheme announcement today as part of the upcoming state budget, Greens Housing spokesperson Jenny Leong MP and Greens Treasury spokesperson Abigail Boyd MLC have called for a broader more equitable response to the housing crisis.

Abigail passed THREE Greens' disability amendments into law this week, an incredible achievement which will now see LGBTIQ+ people with disability have their needs fully recognised, require Gov to undergo better community consultation, and strengthen the State Disability Inclusion Plan. 

Tonight Abigail gave a powerful Adjournment speech about the absolutely abysmal job this LNP Government has done at looking after our communities during crisis after crisis.

Abigail moved several amendments to the Disability Inclusion Act to ensure all people with disability in our state are looked after. The LNP Government and the Labor Party blocked the majority of Abigail's amendments, however we were able to pass three amends!

Today Abigail supported amendments to our child protection systems, making note that ongoing genuine consultation with community stakeholders is essential at every step. 

Abigail took the opportunity to urge the Government to do their job of updating our outdated animal welfare laws.

Today Abigail initiated her first ever Matter of Public Importance - on the extremely real and pressing issue of the energy crisis and its impact on cost-of-living pressures.

Abigail questioned the Minister for Roads today about the Government's privatisation of toll roads across the State at the profit of big corps such as Transurban.

Abigail introduced a new Greens bill for a wellbeing budget that looks after us all.

Pride Month celebrates the diversity and history of the LGBTIQ+ community, and marks the Stonewall Riots, a watershed moment in the fight for LGBTIQ+ liberation around the world. Queer rights have been long and hard fought, and reflecting on how far we've come as well as what still needs to be done is so important. 

The NSW Liberal-National Government has today recommended approval for the Mount Pleasant mine expansion in Muswellbrook, green-lighting the extraction by MACH Energy of more carbon than any other project approved by the IPC in NSW, and which will continue to operate for a further 22 years.

Abigail questioned the Minister for Disability on their recently announced scheme to provide free RATs for people with disability, ensuring the program is available and accessible for all people with disability and their carers and families regardless of NDIS status.

Abigail questioned the Minister for Racing on the proposed large-scale greyhound rehoming facility in Martindale, which is hugely unwanted by community and animal welfare advocates. The answers received were non-answers, leaving us still questioning the transparency around GRNSW's intentions and actions.

Abigail questioned the Minister for Education about the Government's new program for free period products in public schools, regarding sustainable and safe ingredients.
