Stop the Sydney Bus Sell-Off

In support of the RTBU led campaign to stop the privatisation of Sydney’s last remaining publicly owned and operated buses, Abigail successfully moved a motion calling on the Government to stop the privatisation of essential services and keep our buses in public hands.

NSW Upper House passes motion opposing bus sell-off

The Liberals plan to sell-off the last publicly-owned bus services in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, Northern Beaches and North Shore has been strongly opposed today by the NSW parliament upper house, passing a Greens motion to stop the sell-off.

Greens Bill to protect Central Coast drinking water & stop Wallarah 2 introduced

Today, NSW upper house MP and Greens spokesperson for the Central Coast, Abigail Boyd, introduced the Central Coast Drinking Water Catchments Protection Bill 2019 to protect the Central Coast drinking water by imposing a moratorium on coal mining and CSG in the Central Coast’s water catchment areas.

Having stood firmly with the Central Coast community for many years against the proposed Wallarah 2 coal mine, Abigail rose to speak in support of her Bill that would protect the Central Coast drinking water catchment and stop the proposed destructive coal mine.

Right To Farm Bill 2019

Today in Parliament, Abigail spoke against the inappropriately Right To Farm Bill that would stop peaceful protests and protect an industry that continuously breaches it’s welfare obligations to the animals in it’s care.

PFAS Chemical Contamination

Concerned about the spread of PFAS chemical contamination across the country, Abigail used Question Time to ask what steps the government was taking to limit that contamination, particularly in regard to coal-fired power stations.

Religious Organisations

Today, Abigail used her Private Members Statement to call out the creeping influence of organised religion on the NSW Government despite clear constitutional requirements for the separation of church and state.
