Today in Parliament, Abigail spoke in support of the Residential Tenancies Amendment (Domestic Violence Reform) Bill 2025, which strengthens protections for tenants who are victim-survivors of domestic and family violence, introducing clearer definitions, expanded competent persons, and improved processes for bond recovery, property damage, and emergency lock changes.

A voice for victim-survivors

Today in Parliament, Abigail passed 8 Greens amendments to the Victims Rights and Victims of Crime Commissioner Bill 2025, which will strengthen the new Commissioner’s role and functions, ensure the government responds to recommendations made by the Commissioner, and ensure the new victims advisory committee will have a representative who is a person with disability and a representative with expertise of domestic and family violence.

Harm in the Name of Safety: NSW must reform policing of domestic and family violence

Today in Parliament, Abigail gave notice of a motion in Parliament commending the publication of “Harm in the Name of Safety” a damning research report surveying frontline family violence workers in Victoria about their observations and concerns on how police respond to family violence.

We must protect the workers who protect us

Today in Parliament, Abigail spoke in strong support of the Workers Compensation Amendment (Firefighters’ Diseases) Bill 2025, which expands presumptive cancer protections for NSW firefighters to include additional scientifically supported cancers.

States of Transition

Today in Parliament, Abigail passed a motion commending the June release of the States of Transition report, which tracks renewable energy progress across states and territories, and called on the NSW Government to collaborate with communities and experts to enhance strategic planning and accelerate the renewable energy transition.

Today in Budget Estimates, Abigail grilled the Minister for Gaming and Racing on the abhorrent greyhound racing industry, pressing for answers on when the long-awaited Drake Report will be released, and highlighting NSW Labor’s legacy of backing the gambling lobby and a cruel, corrupt industry built on animal abuse.

Why won't Labor just fund the domestic and family violence frontline?

Enough is enough! Today in Budget Estimates, Abigail pressed the NSW Premier and the Labor Government again on whether they will properly fund the essential frontline services in the domestic and family violence sector as reported DFV incidents continue to rise every year across our state.
