Today in Parliament Abigail gave notice of a motion calling on the NSW Government to condemn the actions of built to rent property mogul and refuse business with the Gurner group.
Abigail said:
I give notice that on the next sitting day I will move:
(1) That this House notes the recent comments by CEO of luxury building company Gurner Group, Tim Gurner, that:
- in Tim Gurner’s opinion people need to be reminded they work for the employer, not the other way around,
- parasitic millionaire CEO Tim Gurner believes that “tradies are paid a lot to do not much”,
- Tim Gurner wishes to see “pain in the economy”, and
- Tim Gurner hopes to see a “40 to 50 per cent rise in unemployment”, in order to see what he characterises as less “arrogance” by working people in the employment market.
(2) That this House notes that:
-
Gurner Group is a build-to-rent property developer, and
- Gurner Group has begun moving into projects in Sydney, including a recent acquisition of a tower block in Barangaroo, and with plans to expand further.
(3) That this House:
-
condemns the reprehensible and arrogant comments of this fledgling built to rent property mogul as outdated relics from a bygone era, and
- calls on the NSW government to refuse to do any business with the Gurner Group on the basis of them being not a fit and proper employer.
