PETS NOT BETS — BAN GREYHOUND RACING

To the President and Members of the Legislative Council:

The NSW greyhound racing industry is untenable and unwanted by the community. Year after year, well-documented evidence reveals cruel and corrupt practices in the industry, including live baiting, doping and drugging, discarded greyhounds, overbreeding, cruel kennel conditions and more.

We the petitioners request that the House works to urgently legislate to ban commercial greyhound racing in NSW, including a transition plan for industry participants and affected communities that includes training and reskilling for workers, repurposing existing race tracks to community-owned spaces and safe rehoming of all greyhounds.
