Stop the Wallarah 2 coal mine

Whether it’s greenlighting the toxic underground Wallarah 2 coal mine that will consume gigalitres of our supply and threaten its contamination, or allowing the Mangrove Mountain rubbish tip to contaminate our catchment, this government has shown us time and time again that they will ignore community needs in favour of propping up corporate interests.

The Central Coast water catchment provides drinking water for over 320,000 local residents – but the NSW Coalition government wants to trash it, and the clean-up could take 30 years.

It is critical to our local environment, vital for our access to clean water and the health of our communities, and essential for agriculture, tourism and our local economy.

Nowhere else in the world would a government allow a major water catchment to be put at risk of contamination through a toxic coal mine. So why would we allow it here?

Sign our petition now to call on the NSW government to protect our drinking water on the Central Coast and to stop the toxic Wallarah 2 coal mine.
